Stunning Indian Model-Actress Asin Thottumkal | Photos

I don't know about you but I think Indian actress Asin Thottumkal looks like a twin of Penelope Cruz, a Hollywood actress and ex-wife of global superstar Tom Cruise.

Born on October 26, 1985 to a Syro-Malabar Catholic family, this model-actress has been the cover girl of magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Cine Blitz, Femina, FHM, Filmfare, Grazia, Hi Blitz, Marie Claire, Prevention, Verve and Vogue India. We couldn't agree more. After all, Asin has a sweet smile and voluptuous body that could easily make subscribers out of innocent on-lookers! Not only did she start at modeling at the tender age of 14, Asin Thottumkal is also trained in Bharatnatyam and folkdance.

It is said that she could speak seven languages, including Malayalam (her mother tongue), Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, French, English and Sanskrit.  Being multi-lingual, she has appeared in various films (not just in South Indian cinema where she started).

She starred in Hindi films, "Housefull 2", "Bol Bachchan", "Khiladi 786" (2012), "Ready" (2011), "London Dreams" (2009), and "Ghajini" (2008); in the Malayalam film, "Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka" (2001); in Tamil films, "Kaavalan" (2011), "Dasavathaaram" (2008), "Aalwar", "Pokkiri", "Vel" in 2007, "Varalaru" (2006), "Ullam Ketkumae", "Ghajini", "Majaa", "Sivakasi" in 2005 and "M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi" (2004). She has also starred in Telugu films, "Annavaram" (2006), "Chakram" (2005), "Lakshmi Narasimha", "Gharshana" (2004), and "Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi",

Bollywood playback singer Indian Sunidhi Chauhan | Photos

Have you ever encountered looking at a singer's face and as moments pass you suddenly notice that she's getting prettier with every note that she belts out? I know I have with Bollywood playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan!

What is a playback singer? Here's Wikipedia's definition: Someone "whose singing is pre-recorded for use in movies. Playback singers record songs for soundtracks, and actors or actresses lip-sync the songs for cameras, while the actual singer does not appear on screen".

Sunidhi Chauhan was first discovered by Indian cinema at the early age of four. But her big break came when she was 16 years old through the film "Mast" by Ram Gopal Varma, where she sang the hit song "Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi".

Since then she has lent her voice to many Bollywood actress including Rekha, Madhuri Dixit, Kajol, Sridevi, Aishwarya Rai, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Urmila Matondkar, Shilpa Shetty, Sushmita Sen, Shamita Shetty, Lara Dutta, Dia Mirza, Esha Deol, Anushka Sharma, Parineeti Chopra, Jacqueline Fernandez, Konkona Sen Sharma, Gauhar Khan, Mumaith Khan and Rakhi Sawant.

But Sunidhi Chauhan's songs are not only for the South Asia. She has also made it in the global pop scene with a recording of the Hindi version of "Heartbeat" with Enrigue. Her single with Sanjoy Deb, "Ab Laut La", is now being played by disc jockeys (DJs) in various clubs and parties worldwide.

German-Indian Beauty Queen, Bollywood Star Dia Mirza

Bollywood star Dia Mirza (also called Diya and Dee) was born on December 9, 1981 to Frank Handrich and Bengali Hindu Deepa. In 2000, she won the titles Femina Miss India and Miss Asia Pacific (the same year when Larra Dutta became Miss Universe and Priyanka Chopra won the Miss World title).   

Her father was a German graphic and industrial fair designer, architect, artist and interior designer from Munich (which explains her semi-Caucasian looks, making her appear like a Geena Davis or Julia Roberts look-a-alike. Her mother is currently a volunteer helping addicts and alcoholics, she was formerly an interior designer and landscaper. As could be seen in below photo: 

Dia Mirza made her debut with the film "Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein", where she was casted alongside R. Madhavan. Indian Actress and Model Amrita Rao | Pictures | Video

We have to thank executives from Cadbury's Perk Karwa Chau and Bru Coffee for introducing lovely and cute Bollywood actress, Amrita Rao, to the public through their product advertisements. 

She has really come a long, long way! After her acting debut with Ab Ke Baras in 2002, her movies have captured the heart of millions, including this writer (who is really quite jealous of Shahid Kapoor, her partner in so many romantic movies, see fan video below) 

I patiently await Amrita Rao in two major big-budget films to be released this year (2013): Anil Sharma's Singh Sahab the Great opposite Sunny Deol, and Prakash Jha's Satyagraha.

Amrita was born to a Mangalorean Brahmin family in Mumbai, India. Her father owns an advertising company in Mumbai and also turned author in 2008. She speaks Hindi, English, Marathi, besides her mother tongue, Konkani. She attended the Canossa Convent High School (Mahim) in Mumbai, and later enrolled in Sophia College to pursue a degree in Psychology. Her younger sister, Preetika Rao, is a model and well-known film journalist and columnist.

Bollywood Star Deepika Padukone

Hello dear readers. The first post in my blog is dedicated to none other than Deepika Padukone. Because for me, she is number one in my top 100 most beautiful women in Bollywood. Succeeding posts would have no bearing with regards to rank. So, here we go. 

She is my favorite female actress. I am still watching "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" over and over while praising Deepika's more mature acting alongside her former boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. Guess we are all excited for the coming "Chennai Express"! 

I hope this movie, which would reunite her with Shahrukh Khan (her co-star in the reincarnation melodrama "Om Shanti Om"), would attain the same (or even greater) commercial success. 

Deepika, an Indian actress and model, was born on January 5, 1986.  She is daughter to celebrated badminton player Prakash Padukone (which explains her towering height of 5 foot 9 inches). Even before she was featured in her first film, Aishwarya, in 2006, she was making a name for herself as an image model and product endorser. In photo above, she poses for the Garnier make-up line. Below, she is tantalizing in a red bikini on the June 2012 issue cover of Vogue India magazine. We expect  more from her!
