Last month, Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap announced that he is dating his assistant director Sabrina Khan. It now appears that he and his ex-wife Kalki Koechlin (see photo) are headed for divorce. They are now planning to file legal separation after getting married in 2011. The two remain good friends, however.

Who is Kalki Koechlin? She is an actress and screenwriter, who is also an active supporter of feminism and the anti-patriarchy movement. Born on January 10, 1984 in Kalkatty, Tamil Nadu, she is best known for her portrayal of Chandramukhi in the Hindi film Dev. D in 2009, for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2009. In the said critically-acclaimed film, she played two characters: the innocent schoolgirl Leni who transformed into the erotic prostitute Chanda.

She is a desi of French descent, which explains her exotic look (see photo, as a cover girl for Women's Health magazine). Both her parents are French migrants who transferred to India some sixty years ago. They are devotees of Sri Aurobindo.

Kalki Koechlin is an active feminist. She was featured in the "It's Your Fault" anti-rape video, with VJ Juhi Pandey, which went viral on the internet in September 2013.

Karnataka-born Lakshmi Rai (Raai Laxmi) of Mallu, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada Movies | Photos | Video

This month, the hot and sexy South Indian actress, model and stage peformer Lakshmi Rai (see photo, in bikini below) changed her name to Raai Laxmi. A regular fixture in Mallu, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada movies since 2005 with her debut film "Karka Kasadara", she was born on May 5, 1989 in Bangalore, Karnataka.

Before entering the movie business, she worked as a model in various television ads for Sylcon Footwears, Josco Jewellers, Saravana Stores, Emmanuel Silks, Bru Coffee and Lucky Silks - Thanjavur. With such a pretty face (see photo), it is no wonder that brands get Lakshmi Rai (now Raai Laxmi) to endorse their product.

In 2005, she got the role of Anjali in the Tamil film "Karka Kasadara". Soon, she was also cast in Mallu, Telugu and Kannada movies.

Koothara Actress, Kerala State Film Awardee, Dusky-Skinned Star Bhavana | Photos | Video

As of this writing, the trailer of the Malayalam mystery-thriller film "Kootahara" was recently released (see video at the end of this blog post). The movie, which stars Bharath, Sunny Wayne and Tovino Thomas (with Mohanlal in an extended cameo role) is about the different adventures of three friends from an engineering campus. Most of its scenes where shot in the Calicut University Institute of Engineering and Technology.

But this is post is not about the movie but the sexy and dusky-skinned actress Bhavana (see photo), who joins the cast of "Koothara" by Marikar Films.

She is one of the most talented stars of the South Indian film industry, appearing in more than sixty movies. Her career extends for more than ten years and has won her two Kerala State Film Awards. Born as Karthika Menon on June 6, 1986 in Perinkavu, Thissur in Kerala, she is known by the name "Kaathi".

Yet, she is much recognized for her screen name Bhavana, which also means "calling into existence", "producing", "cultivating" and "development". The term is really suited for her (take a look at below photo and you'll see). Because after her screen debut in 2002 with the film "Nammal", she seems to have blossomed into a well-spring of Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada movies.
